April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th day of July, started taking piano and guitar lessons from seven years old. Her interest in creating songs was sparked. In April, when she was 12 years old, she composed her first single, Different. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing lyrics and perfecting her musicianship skills. In the following years, she took notes with her father to LA as well as NY. The month also saw her include additional topics that were related to of her friends dealing with issues such as bullying by peers and teens who commit suicide through the songs"Take" my Hand. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as a lifestyle blogger with the well-known Ilia clean beauty brand. Her disability is a part of her identity, but it is not the whole image. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not conceal her handicap, but it doesn't just focus on her disability. The point? This is the message: We all have numerous identities. We're much far more complicated than we believe we're. Lockhart, via video message from Nashville at home, claims that I do not want that to be a part of me. I'm much greater than the physical person I am. However, it doesn't affect my everyday life. I continue to do my normal activities and have adjusted to the limitations of my disability. In addition, I see it a very important aspect of me. Lockhart is a great example of how to stay striving to be self-accepting. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of being uncomfortable with her physique and being uncomfortable wearing some clothing types that exposed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and is proud to post pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social media. Self-love, she says, is a process. "I believe that you will ever be in that place," she said. However, I believe that's the case common to everyone regardless of what their insecurity is. It's essential to have those that know and can relate to the way you feel. They will be the ones asking your: What are you fret about?
