Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. She would later be Romania's gymnastics coach. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in which she finished 13th in 1969. In 1970, she won. In 1972, in a meet of communist countries juniors before the Olympics, she won three medals of gold. After that, in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior champ. In 1975, she took home four golds and one silver in her first senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European Champion. The year was 1976 when she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female ever to remove the parallel bars with backwards double salto. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her entertainment career when she was in her teenage years. She started her career as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
